Facebook’s Farmville

March9

I can’t believe I got sucked up into this silly game!  I was dead set against this sort of game on Facebook.  The little public announcements that crops need to be fertilized, the constant gift requests, the fact that it’s time I shouldn’t spend on the computer…

FarmvilleIt all started with my son.  He got a Facebook and began playing these silly games.  Then I started helping him while he was at school… Just checking in on his crops and helping him plant some things.  Then he said that he wanted some Farmville friends, but I didn’t want him bugging everyone on Facebook about it so I told him to add me.  That’s where I went wrong… I should have never been FRIENDLY… Anyways, now I am full on hooked.  So silly, I know…  Sooo, I guess this is my round about way of asking, “If you are on Facebook, would you please send me gifts?  I am collecting Whitewashed fences.”  ;)   j/k…. no really, send me fences…

Kitty Purple

March6

Kitty Purple
Why the name Kitty Purple?  We have a little… “thing” that has been going on in my family for a  few years now.  It all started with my brother’s kids naming their white cat Kitty White & their black cat Kitty Black. Then my other brother’s kids named their orange cat Kitty Orange.  So naturally I had to name this little guy Kitty Purple.  This cute little kitty is a puppet that can also be used as a tub washcloth or why not make cleaning fun for your kids with this kitty.    Click HERE to get this pattern.

My Favorite Part of Knitting

February24

My favorite part of knitting is the fact that I can take a ball of string and two (sometimes four) sticks and make pretty much anything I can imagine.  To loose your troubles with a difficult pattern or to contemplate a problem while working a simple mindless stitch.  The fact that while I am wasting time watching TV or while I wait for my kids to get out of school I can actually accomplish something.  I love the feeling I get when I finish a project and see the finished product knowing that my hands created every stitch.  I love knitting for my family and friends.  I enjoy teaching someone a trade passed down from generation to generation of time.  I often wonder who thought up this thing and how on Earth they figured it out.  Wouldn’t it be interesting if there were some sort of knitting line like a family tree that could trace back who taught you and then who taught that person clear back to the origins of knitting?  Some people may not understand a person who thoroughly enjoys the handcraft of knitting, but let me tell you something… Knitting ain’t just for granny and don’t knock it before you try it!
